Suspensions - Two  arcs of dyed cotton fabric (indigo & fiber reactive dye) based on Japanese shimenawa (sacred rice straw ropes called) and Micronesian mwarmwar (garlands).  The fabric "petals" are dyed using a traditional Japanese folding technique called itajime and they are enfolded in plyed cotton cords.

Cascades- Four dyed, pleated and stitched silk panels embellished with metallic threads and knotted cords.  They were inspired by two traditional folded and layered garments - Indian sari and Heian era Japanese 12-layered court kimono called junihitoe.
